The Thunderbolt Owners Association was formed by four friends in the late 1970s, Larry Davis from Hueytown Alabama, Dennis Kolodziej from Redford Michigan, Larry Short from Hookstown Pennsylvania and Bob Trevarrow from Clawson Michigan. The four of us were brought together by the passion we shared in a single car, the 1964 Ford 427 Fairlane, better known as the THUNDERBOLT !
Our objective became to research the history of these cars and to dispel the unfounded rumors of how many cars were built, how the cars were equipped, where they were built, who they were originally delivered to and where they are today. Over the last 30+ years we have been able to accomplish many of these goals. To date we have documented 80+ cars that either are still in existence or have been destroyed. Hopefully we will be able to identify the fate of the remaining cars soon.
This web site is an extension of our research and is purely for the enjoyment and education of Thunderbolt enthusiasts. If you would like to contact us please email us at tbolt@thunderboltowners.com
Please bear with us while we continue to build this site. We plan to add as much information as possible. If you have material that you would like to contribute to our research and this website please contact us.
